About Us
Mission
Cristo Rey Columbus High School (“CRC”) is a Catholic, college-preparatory high school with a Professional Work-Study Program empowering students of all faiths, in need of an affordable, high-quality education, to excel in college, in career, and in character.

Value Statement
We are a beacon of hope and belonging, a community that cultivates our collective strength to uplift the many. Based in our Catholic foundation, we work for the good of the human family and embrace the blessing of not being the same. We believe it is our role to be peacemakers and our duty to love everyone, regardless of our many differences.
As an educational institution, we carry the responsibility to make academics a priority. Our mission to teach and guide students to excel in both the classroom and in character is rooted in love. Love is at the heart of Catholic education, and God’s love is not always soft. Love is a forceful action rooted in truth that is motivated to benefit others. That truth is to hold ourselves and each other accountable to the expectation of acting with love as Jesus Christ teaches us.
The Cristo Rey student is our purpose. Our collective community has the responsibility to prepare each student to live a life embedded in a spirituality that enriches their mind, health, and confidence to be servant leaders of the next generation. It is our hope and an essential part of our mission that our students experience consistent encounters with Jesus Christ. While they are in our care and once they leave us, they will feel empowered to step through all doors, knowing that they DESERVE and BELONG.
Viva Cristo Rey!
School
Our school is located at 400 East Town Street in the Discovery District of downtown Columbus. The building was constructed in 1899 as part of the Ohio Institution for the Deaf and Dumb (today the Ohio School for the Deaf). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 25, 1984, and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties on November 19, 1984.
This location has been home to Cristo Rey Columbus High School since 2014 to begin the school’s second academic year. While the building had to undergo significant renovations to make it suitable for our students, the building still boasts many original elements such as gothic architecture on the exterior and original pinewood floors.

Students
We believe in supporting and challenging our students to do their best for themselves, their friends and families, and their communities. Through our rigorous college-preparatory curriculum and Professional Work-Study Program, our students experience a unique combination of learning and working that’s highly rewarding, empowering, and fun. It’s our goal to ensure Cristo Rey Columbus High School is a place where students feel confident in themselves and their abilities as they grow into future leaders.

Professional Work-Study Program (PWSP)
This innovative educational model allows each student to work 5 days per month at businesses all over Columbus. Businesses pay a fee to Cristo Rey Columbus, which covers approximately one-quarter of the cost of each student’s education. By the time they graduate, Cristo Rey Columbus students have 4 years of professional experience to give them a significant advantage over their peers.
